According to the Hindu calendar, worship will be done on the day of Magh month Shukla Paksha Panchami from 3:48 am on Saturday, which will end at 3:46 am on Sunday. According to Hindu Dharma Shastra, worship can be done from the date of Uday.
Why Saraswati Mata is worshiped on Basant Panchami?
The custom of worshiping Goddess Saraswati Mata (सरस्वती माता) on the great festival of Basant Panchami (बसंत पंचमी) is prevalent in India. As soon as the water particles fell on the earth, Swarsati Mata appeared in the form of a beautiful woman. She had a Veena in one hand and a book in the other. In the third hand there was a garland and in the fourth hand there was a varada mudra. Who was given the name Saraswati Devi (सरस्वती देवी) by Brahma ji.
When Saraswati Devi played the veena (वीणा), the world got a voice for every soul. That is why she is also called by the name of Goddess Saraswati. Because that day was Basant Panchami (बसंत पंचमी). Since then, gods and demons, humans also worship Goddess Saraswati Devi on this day.
